Toyota also maintains its own recall lookup through toyota.com. Checking both gives you the most complete picture, as Toyota’s database may include recently announced recalls that are still being processed through the federal system.

What to Do If You Have an Open Recall

If the lookup returns an open recall, note the recall campaign number listed in the results. That number is what the service department uses to locate the correct parts and repair procedure.

Contact your Toyota dealership’s service department to schedule the recall repair. The work is performed at no charge, and in most cases the fix can be completed during a single service visit. Dealerships receive the necessary parts and instructions from Toyota directly once a recall is announced.
